Plants and herbs are gifts from nature, intended to enrich our lives with their healing properties. They can be consumed orally and used top for the overall health of the body and organism. We had the opportunity to speak with a woman named Claire, who founded Clean as Claire - natural wellness sanctuary created with her wisdom and knowledge.
Herbalism is all about using plants or plant extracts for various purposes. It combines traditional knowledge and research to boost health and manage different symptoms.
Claire enthusiastically shares her knowledge on her Instagram, offering a variety of recipes to enhance health and quality of life. Warmly recommend exploring dozens of recipes that you can easily make at home, instead of using drugstore products filled with and unknown ingredients that have a disastrous effect on our health.

What inspired you to start Clear as Claire?
I’ve always had a passion for holistic health and recipe testing. During COVID, I began creating skincare products for myself after struggling to find pure, toxin-free options in the United States. Soon, neighbours and friends started asking what I was using and how they could get their hands on it. What started as gifting products quickly grew through word of mouth, leading me to begin selling them. I found it challenging to find trustworthy herb suppliers in the U.S., so I expanded into selling herbs as well.
Can you tell us more about plant-based wisdom from the south of France?
Yes! I come from an area in the south of France where there’s a deep reliance on the land and its healing properties. Growing up, my grandmother would make poultices, salves, and tisanes for various ailments, using the plants that grew around us. I just grew up surrounded with a wealth of plant knowledge and want to share it with others.

What challenges did you face transitioning from France to the U.S in terms of wellness practices? / How do you ensure the sustainability of the ingredients used in your products?
The European Union has much stricter regulations when it comes to wellness practices, and I found that in the more unregulated industry in the United States, it was difficult to know exactly what I was putting into and onto my body. This made me want to take a different approach—sourcing all of my ingredients on a smaller scale, ensuring quality and transparency in my process. I source from a local herbalist in the south of France a lot.
What are some common misleading claims in the wellness industry that you aim to counteract?
I’m not a fan of ‘cure-all’ products or claims. Holistic health is about considering the whole person, taking into account all aspects of your well-being. Your health and wellness are influenced by many factors, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. That’s why I like to share knowledge on a variety of herbs, so you can choose what works best for your unique body and needs. It’s really about finding what feels good.

Can you share a personal favorite product from Clear as Claire and why it's special to you?
My favorite product changes all the time, but right now it is definitely the Calm Blend. The holiday season tends to bring an increase in stress, and sipping on this blend in the morning or before bed really helps calm my mind and brings me a sense of balance. It’s been a great way to start or end my day with a little more peace.
How do you balance traditional herbal knowledge with modern wellness needs?
Good question! I believe that traditional herbalism offers a foundation grounded in the understanding of nature’s healing properties. The practices that I share, passed down through generations, emphasize the importance of holistic care—treating the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected. Modern wellness often emphasizes personalization, evidence-based practices, and the use of technology to support health. To bridge these two worlds, I focus on selecting herbs that have both historical significance and emerging scientific support. This allows me to offer products that are rooted in tradition while being mindful of modern needs.

How do you ensure the sustainability and purity of the ingredients used in your products?
I’m constantly experimenting and recipe testing, blending herbs into various formulations for tinctures, balms, teas, and more. I think this process honors sustainability as herbs are naturally renewable and offer a deep connection to the earth.
How do you see clear as Claire evolving in the future?
I have so many dreams and so many new product ideas that I’m excited to introduce over time. I’m always tinkering. I hope to continue sharing my knowledge, growing a community, and helping people look and feel their best. I want people to feel empowered to use herbs to better their lives.
